Gimpy talking.....Saw some St. Bernard puppies under a year old. One will be very close to Emily's heart. Had a great supper at Yvonne and Craig's. Got to meet Penny Jane for the first time and Lilly is a cutie! You should have been there when Sheri carried the garbage from Craig and Yvonne's down to the dumpster....holding the bag out the window all the way!
The Kid talking....We visited a "legumes" (vegetable/fruit) establishment this morning. Everything was on an honor system. You weigh the produce on a scale and it indicates how much it costs. Then you drop that amount of francs in the collection box. Watch out Jeff, I think I'm going to be planting some vegetable gardens in the back yard. I was in heaven! So many fresh vegetables to look at! We chose some delicious tasting strawberries to take with us to Yvonne and Craig's home. We also stopped at a meat shop and picked up some sausage for our trip to Paris tomorrow. I also had the pleasure of meeting Julia's friends - Yvonne, Craig, and their darling little girls. I enjoyed the food, wine, and laughs. I appreciate their hospitality.
Chunky talking......Sheri had a good point on the legumes stand. The honor system is alive and well in Switzerland! The meat market was also on the honor system. You picked out your meat, wrote down what you were taking and the cost, put your name on an envelope and money in the envelope and dropped it in a slot. Imagine Lyle or Lance doing that at the shop!! We had a great time in Zurich....except for losing one boy for about 10 minutes. Michael and Megan were pretty calm...I was as nervous as a tick on a hound. But all ended well. Even got to sample grilled calamari. Those little guys have a lot of legs!!
Over the last two days we have visited Zurich, ridden a lake boat, taken a tram ride, visited a waterfall, petted St. Bernards, enjoyed great food, family, friends and wine.
Now tomorrow, it's off to Paris....City of Lights. Wonder what will await us there? Hope it is not the rain predicted for Monday. Or Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday.
